CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

The Sydney Show Jumping Club Inc. Hendra Policy for this event: The Committee of SSJC has determined that the 2020 Sydney Jumping Championships will not be a “Hendra Event”. Whilst we support Vaccination against The Hendra Virus for horses coming from the Endemic Zone as Listed by Postcodes determined by the RAS, it will not be a Condition of Entry that horses must be vaccinated. However, the following policy should be noted and accepted when entering this Event: “That in the event of a lock-down being implemented as a result of a suspected Hendra case or any other bio-saecurity threat, the Event Organisers or its Officers will not be responsible for any costs incurred by any owner, competitor or member of the public, who is subject to the lock-down. A Bio security “Risk Management” plan will be in place and available for viewing at the entry office.

1. All riders must be [a] Current members of Equestrian Australia or [b] a 2020 Sydney Showjumping Club member.

2. All horses entered in 1.05m or above points classes in rings 1, 2 or 3 must hold current registration and Jumping Competitor License cards from the EA. All EA registration details

must be provided via Global Entries Online at the time of entry submission –entries will not be accepted without this information at the time of entry.

3. Points allocation shall be in accordance with the National System.

4. The Event will be run under FEI/EA rules.

5. Australian helmets standards will apply and must be worn and fastened at all times whilst mounted.

6. All riders must wear an EA approved helmet at all times whilst mounted, including presentations.

7. The Organising Committee reserves the right at their absolute discretion to alter or amend any of the conditions, regulations, or any aspect of the event as they see fit.

8. The Organising Committee reserves the right, at their absolute discretion, to accept or refuse any entry

9. The Organising committee reserves the right to swab horses. Random swabbing of horses may be conducted in any class. Horses chosen for swabbing must proceed directly to the swabbing area immediately after the presentation. Riders must comply with the instructions of the Swabbing Steward.

10. Prize presentations other than Saturday events in Ring 2, will be at the presentation dais near the bank in front of the SSJC clubhouse. Saturday's Ring 2 Presentations will be mounted. Riders will be expected to wear coats at the presentations and to be willing meet the sponsors.

11. Summer Uniform will be permitted if weather conditions require. If riding without a coat, proper riding shirt with sleeves, a tie or rat-catcher will be permissible. If you wish to wear a back protector you have the option of wearing a riding jacket or not.

12. Riders with stallions that are placed in a class may substitute the stallion with another horse for the presentation.  Stallions discs must be displayed for all stallion on the ground mounted or unmounted and on the vehicle that has transported them.

13. All entries via globalentriesonline.com.au must be lodged by November 20, 2020 @ 10am. All entries must be paid for via credit card at time of entry. IMPORTANT: No late entries will be accepted.

14. Refunds: 100% refunds will be given on presentation of a doctor’s certificate or veterinary certificate by December 6, 2020. Please contact organisers prior if possible to allow any waiting list entries.

15. All dogs must be kept under control on leads or restrained at all times. Dogs are not permitted in the warm up or competition areas at any time.  Additionally, prams and children under 5 are not permitted in the warm up or competition areas.

16. All riders competing at the event will be expected to have read and accepted the conditions of entry.

17. Only riders competing in the current competition may use the final practice area. Only six horses will be allowed in the practice area at any one time. All horses being held in the warm up areas must be wearing a bridle for control and not a head collar.

18. All prize money may alter if sponsorship is not received and entry fees are inclusive of GST. Riders registered for GST should submit a tax invoice at the conclusion of the show. All riders must present their Jumping Competitor licence cards to the judge/Office official or prize money will not be issued.

19. Where there are less than 10 entries in a class, the organising committee reserves the right to redistribute prize money to other classes to reflect the entries. These changes will be made prior to the event being run.

20. Placings will be to 6th place only. 

21. A horse/rider combination may enter only one class in concurrent classes [i.e. a combination may enter class 5a but, on a different horse the same rider may enter class 5b]. Horses may ONLY enter two classes per day on two of the three days of the show.

22. For all of the Special Presentation classes on Saturday, riders must attend the presentations mounted to meet the sponsors and collect any prizemoney

23. Divisions of each class will be run concurrently including jump-offs.

24. Age of Horses entered in the Young Horse classes is as per the EA National rule (the age of the horse is on the day of competition). Young horses are only eligible to enter one division of any class.

25. Protests must be addressed to the Ground Jury in writing, accompanied by a $50 fee and be lodged no later than 30 minutes after the announcement of the results of the relevant class. The period of jurisdiction of the Ground Jury is 60 minutes after the announcement of the final results of the class. The fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld.

26. Thoroughbred Sport Horse Association (THSA) classes: Horse/rider combination can only enter one TSHA class a day, must be TSHA registered, and can only enter either A or B or C section of the same height, not multiple.

Age classifications (as per EA regulations):

Child: An Athlete may compete in Children’s classes until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 14 years old. 

Juniors: Athletes can take part in competitions for Juniors until the end of the calendar year,

in which they reach the age of 18 years. 18 year old riders cannot compete in Junior classes and Adult classes at this event.

 

Young Riders: Athletes may take part in competitions and Championships for Young Riders

from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 16 until the end of the

calendar year they reach the age of 21.

** NOTE - A rider cannot compete on the same horse in Child, Junior and/or Young

Rider classes.

Amateur Rider classes are classes for riders who: must not have competed in an Olympic

Games or World Equestrian Games in either Jumping or Eventing; in the past 10 years must

not have competed in a World Cup for Jumping Riders qualifying round; must not have

competed in section 1 and 2 at a Royal Show in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or

Perth in the past two years; must never have competed in a 4* 3 Day Event. Amateur Riders

may not compete in an Amateur class if they compete in a class where the first round is

higher than 1.20m at that show. Amateur Riders may not compete in an Amateur class on a

horse that will compete in any class where the first round is higher than 1.20m at that show.

Riders may compete as amateurs from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn

21 years of age.

 

COVID-19 Restrictions apply at the event. Please read and adhere to the Event COVID-19 plan that will be distributed by SSJC prior to the event. Please respect social distancing rules and hand hygiene.

Daily limits.

SSJC has a daily limit of riders, grooms, helpers etc of 500 max at the time the program was put up on Global. SSJC will have counting in place to ensure we track numbers attending. We will advise if and when NSW Health advises of changes.
